What is a spiritual and physical mentor?

The gift of mediumship is as old as the world; prophets could be considered mediums; Socrates was guided by a spirit that inspired him with the admirable principles of his philosophy, for he listened to his inner voice; Joan of Arc was guided by the voice of God, her great mentor. The psychic gift is related to her mentor. The human spirit follows a necessary march, the image of the scale of all that populate the visible and invisible universe and all progress reaches its time; some before others, aided by mentors, whether incarnate or not, visible or invisible. The mentor’s main function is to provide guidance using the vehicle intuition; therefore, the most important thing is to trust it, respect it and have faith, so you will be able to foresee the future and prepare yourself against any traps and other unforeseen events.

But who are our mentors? Above all, God, Jesus Christ and guardian angels in most religions; for spiritists, good men and women who have already disincarnated and communicate through vehicles such as psychography, always with the intention of guiding their protégés; for Umbanda, caboclos, preto-velhos and so on, this will depend on the religion they profess. The physical mentor, on the other hand, is the one who guides with advice, gives a new spirit for everyone to move on when everything seems difficult. He does not judge, but he clarifies; that’s his job. He accompanies, teaches and strengthens the group in its growth in all aspects, both in personal and professional life. He knows a little about everything, but he doesn’t invade privacy; he only shows ways, offering alternatives, as he has already experienced in practice experiences that others have not yet. It encourages the community to seek information and consequently to obtain more knowledge and wisdom, regardless of the level of education people have. He also has the spiritual support of his mentors; however, as in the Gnostic or Sophia schools, for this approximation to occur, there must be affinity, trust and respect between the group and the mentor.

Not everyone can be a mentor; if he has a busy life or doesn’t have the patience to listen to problems or if his view of religions is limited, it is unlikely to be, as this requires full dedication to others. Having a good reputation and with it a fair moral value (knowing the difference between good and evil) and ethical (seeing good and evil in relation to others) also contributes to being a quality mentor. In addition, you should be happy to guide and not have it as an obligation. In fact, for him, his maxim must always be: God is love, love is God.
