Say a prayer to start the year on the “right foot”

We have reached the last week of the year. Between victories, achievements and passing frustrations, we are alive and ready to start the new year on the “right foot” and maximum energy.

This week many are planning the next year. They are setting personal and professional goals, dreams and goals. A huge list of requests is on our mind and agenda. Requests that started with Santa Claus and continue in the New Year’s Eve festivities.

Now, don’t forget the list of goals, dreams and plans for 2012 at the bottom of the drawer and forget what you want during the year or sit idly by waiting for dreams to come your way without you doing anything to deserve it. In other words, move.

If you want something for yourself, earn it and act to get it. We learn this with the Coaching Technique. If you want something in life, you have to take action to achieve it. Waiting for something to come to you by miracle can be frustrating.

In short, don’t sit around complaining that nothing is going right in your life. Don’t even wait for Santa to bring your presents down the chimney.

Act. Only depends on you. Dream with your feet on the ground. Do it in 2012.

To start the year off right, here’s a prayer to say during the first week of January. Happy 2012!

Prayer for the beginning of the year
Life passes quickly, Lord,
time runs fast.
The days go by uninterruptedly.
Life is increasingly hectic.
There’s no time for anything else.
You have to run to keep up.
But today we want to stop for a moment
to speak to you, Lord, for a new year
it is a new stage that begins.
Today our thoughts
are of gratitude: it would be difficult to enumerate the benefits
received until today.
We also want to ask for forgiveness,
because we don’t always take life seriously.
We often fail to fulfill our obligations.
We fail tremendously in relationships with others.
Forgive us, Lord.
With the beginning of the new year we want to start a new life,
a more authentic and sincere life.
Accompany us, Lord, every day.
Firm our steps on the path of good.
Pour peace and love into our hearts
so that we can build a new world,
where peace reigns,
justice and fraternity, where they fight
to end misery,
to alleviate the sufferings of others.
So your presence
will increasingly mark our world.
Strengthen us, Lord,
in the struggle and guide us today and always. Amen.
