History of Saint John the Baptist

Son of Izabel and Zechariah, who had been praying for years to have an heir, Saint John the Baptist was born six months before Jesus Christ, his cousin, and had his name revealed by an angel. The saint, who led a monastic life, was arrested and beheaded for standing up to King Herod in his time. He is considered by many to be the patron saint of hoteliers, guests and prisoners. Its liturgical date is the 24th, celebrated in Brazil with lots of music and typical foods.

History of San Pedro

Peter was the first Pope and prince of the apostles. Even being a witness to important facts in the life of Jesus, the saint denied Christ three times at the time of his Passion. When Jesus was resurrected, Peter confirmed his faith and became a preacher of the Gospel. After being imprisoned twice, he was crucified upside down, at his request, as he did not think himself worthy to be killed like Jesus. Saint Peter is the guardian of the keys to heaven and is considered the patron saint of stonemasons, fishermen and porters. Its celebration takes place on the 29th, being one of the dearest June Saints.

History of San Antonio

When he was 15 years old, still known as Fernando, he entered the convent of São Vicente de Fora in Lisbon as a novice. It was at this time that the saint began his religious career and his journey closer to the Lord. After joining the Franciscan Order, Saint Anthony found salvation for his heart tormented by the internal disputes of the Church. To show his desire for change, the saint abandoned his original name and changed it to Antônio.

Santo Antônio became known as someone who gave his all to help the poor and needy and, at that time, the dowry was very important for a woman to get married. It is known that, more than once, he collected coins so that several women could obtain the sacred sacrament of matrimony, thus his fame that is known until today, becoming one of the most visited June saints.
