Lost an object? Learn the prayer of Saint Longuinho

I start writing this article to talk about the strength of São Longuinho. My wife was already desperate. She hadn’t found a contract in over a week that she needed to consult to make some important decisions.

Literally she dismantled our home and work office. And nothing to find such a document. Late in the afternoon of Easter Sunday I went to her office to do another fine-tooth comb through drawers and filed papers.

We started to see everything. We opened drawers, rummaged through archived papers and nothing. But, in the middle of the search, I remembered São Longuinho, who finds everything. I asked for help from the Saint of Lost Objects. I promised that if I found the document, I would report it in an article and publish my prayer.

And what happened? In less than two minutes Vera, my wife, found the contract lost among the papers she had already looked for. Miracle? Not. I just believed that we would find it and asked the right Saint for help. And he promptly answered.

For those who don’t know São Longuinho, he is the patron saint of the forgotten, helping them to find lost objects. In Brazil, his day is celebrated on March 15th, however, in Eastern Europe, his feast is on October 16th. His story is impressive and inspiring for people who have gone through several moments in which they are not proud of their actions, but in the end, those who truly repent and ask God for forgiveness can turn their lives around. Dear Saint Longuinho, we beg you in the trust of your intercession. I’m drawn to your story and I wanted you to help me get God’s forgiveness the same way you did. I had to break Jesus’ heart deeply so he could fall into me and it was then that I realized how lost I was in this mundane life. Your charity, after the recognition of the mistake, inspires me to want to do the same and I ask you deeply for your wisdom to touch my soul and guide me on the right journey. Lead me to the path of God, so that I can walk beside Jesus and at your side. Amen.

Three hops to find what was lost

Here in Brazil many people turn to the saint to find lost objects. To ask São Longuinho, just repeat: “São Longuinho, São Longuinho, if I find it (say the object you lost) I’ll hop three times”. When you find what you want, you have to keep your promise.
