Learn the Crystal Stone prayer to protect yourself

Legend has it that when Lampião was killed in 1938, in Angicos (SE), a prayer was found in his belongings. It was the Crystal Stone prayer, the origin of which is unknown.

This episode illustrates Lampião’s religiosity and the need to be protected against supernatural earthly evils, closing his body against gunfire and other demons.

Lampião and his bandits recited this prayer, among others, daily to ask for protection. The leader of the cangaço believed that the strength of faith was enough to protect them from the natural dangers of the sertão, as well as against steel, the sharp blade of knives, daggers and swords, in addition to witchcraft and the bites of venomous animals.

Legend has it that his belief was so great that he used to assure his bandits: “no hair will fall from my head if this is not the will of God”.

For the dangers that Lampião had and lived every day, his faith, care and prayer worked very well. For us, care, cleverness and prayer will protect us for sure.

The Crystal Stone prayer should be prayed at least once a month, on a Friday with a full moon or when you feel that some problem may harm you.

Crystal Stone Prayer to ward off evil

“My Crystalline Stone, which you were found in the sea, between the Benedict Chalice and the Consecrated Host. The earth trembles, but our Lord Jesus Christ does not tremble on the sacred altar.

But the hearts of my enemies and of those who wish me harm tremble. I bless you on the cross and not you me, between the sun, the moon, the stars and the three distinct persons of the most holy trinity.

God! On the crossing I saw my enemies.

My God! They will not harm me, for with the Virgin’s mantle I am covered and with the blood of my Lord Jesus Christ I am protected. They’ll try to hit me, but they won’t. Your arrows of wickedness will crumble like salt in water.

If they try to cut me, they won’t be able to. Your blades will dissolve in the rays of the Sun. If they try to tie me up, the knots will untie themselves. If they chain me, the links will be broken by the power of God. If they lock me up, the prison doors will collapse to let me through.

Unseen, I will pass through my enemies, as Our Lord Jesus Christ passed through the guards of the tomb on the day of the resurrection.

Saved I was, saved I am, saved I will always be. Against me it will not avail. Against mine no one will rise. And to protect my home, with the key to the shrine I will close it.”

After praying this prayer, also pray three Our Fathers, three Hail Marys and three Glory Be to the Father. Some variations recommend lighting three candles, in white saucers, putting coarse salt around each candle. After they have burned, wash the saucers under running water and leave them for at least one night upside down on a wooden furniture .
