Russian method of nail care: what is it? – GOOD SHAPE

Removing the cuticles, polishing and cleaning the stains, that’s the order we know when it comes to polishing. But a technique that has been gaining prominence on social networks is the Russian method. It stands out for its complexity and attention to detail.

According to Olga Radionovaspecialist and one of the partners of Bela Russa (first franchise chain of studios specializing in the original Russian method of nail care), there are a number of aspects that differentiate the original Russian method of care from what we are used to seeing.

WHAT IS THE RUSSIAN METHOD?

The Russian method uses a microdermabrasion device to remove the cuticle, without any kind of cut. Consequently, there is no stimulation or activation of the immune system that causes the cuticles to grow. The result is a painless procedure that helps reduce cuticle growth with each session.

Olga says that it is important to emphasize that the manicure with braces is the most advanced solution for the care of natural nails, since:

Do not use pliers: the cuticle is removed dry using high-precision cutters, similar to those used by dentists. They promote microdermabrasion, a kind of cuticle exfoliation, without hurting.
Does not use water: which prevents the spread of viruses and bacteria and the dilation of tissues that need to be clearly visible by the professional in the work of removing the cuticle.
Does not wear out natural nails: the nails are never sanded or worn with the justification of improving the adhesion of the materials. On the contrary, in the manicure with braces, the natural nails are preserved so that the latest generation nail polishes can adhere to the outermost layer of the nails, for which they are manufactured.

A second important point is related to the high-precision enamelling that uses state-of-the-art products, which provide a look with intense shine and much more durable, compared to conventional techniques, which allows impeccable nails for a period of 3 to 4 weeks. .

“The application of nail polish is done using specific techniques, without smearing the finger, so that only the nail is covered, eliminating the use of chemicals to remove excess product and, consequently, making the procedure allergy-free” adds Olga .

BENEFITS OF THE METHOD

In addition to avoiding problems such as allergies or cuts, as an additional benefit, the technique strengthens the nails, allowing them to grow and reach longer sizes naturally, without the need for artificial extensions, in addition to restoring damaged nails (a technique that allows only damaged, which prevents the others from having to be sacrificed with sanding to match the short length or from all having to be lengthened using artificial material).

Through the method, it is also possible to restore nails that have broken, for example. According to Olga, with the use of an artificial material, quite similar to natural nails in terms of thickness, color and malleability. “After recovery – without the need to match the size of the other nails, shortening them – it is common for women not even to be able to identify which nail went through the restoration process. The natural nail, in turn, grows back strong and the need to use the material becomes unnecessary in a short time, depending on the length of the nails”. In the case of bitten nails, restoration is done to recover the original shape of the nails, protecting them with gel enamelling.

AND WHAT ARE THE RISKS?

As with any beauty treatment, there are risks. For dermatologist Adeline Kikam, as for Russian manicures, the greatest risk is infection. “The proximal nail fold and cuticle play a structural and functional role in protecting the nail plate from which the nail grows and a protective seal around the outer nail to prevent infection,” says Dr. Kikam. “When you push back, trim or cut your cuticles, it’s easier for bacteria and other germs to get into your body and cause an infection.”
