Psalm 11

“In the Lord do I trust; how do you say to my soul, ‘Flee like a bird to your mountain’? For, behold, the wicked bend their bows, they put arrows on the string, that they may shoot with them in the dark, at the upright in heart. foundations, what can the righteous do? The Lord is in his holy temple, the throne of the Lord is in heaven: his eyes are attentive, and his eyelids try the children of men. The Lord tests the righteous, but the wicked His soul hates him who loves violence. He will rain snares, fire, brimstone, and a tempestuous wind on the wicked. This will be the portion of his cup. For the LORD is righteous, and he loves righteousness; straight.”

Psalm 120

“In my distress I cried to the Lord, and he heard me. Lord, deliver my soul from lying lips and from the deceitful tongue. What will be given you, or what will be added to you, a deceitful tongue? Sharp arrows of the mighty, with burning coals of juniper . Woe is me, that I sojourn in Meshech, and dwell in the tents of Kedar. My soul has long dwelt with those who hate peace. I am peaceful, but when I speak already they seek war.”

“To you I lift up my eyes, O thou that dwellest in heaven.
