Prayer to Santa Sara Kali for blessing and protection

In the month of May, the day of Santa Sara Kali is celebrated, the saint protector of the gypsy people and provider of luck, love, health, plenty and long life. What few know is that Santa Sara is also protective of women who cannot get pregnant, the desperate, the offended and the helpless.

Santa Sara was canonized in 1712 by the Catholic Church, but to this day omits her cult. The term Kali means “the black one”, because her skin was dark. Her cult is linked to the cult of the Black Madonnas and the festivities of the saint take place on May 24, with a procession and bathing in the sea.

The image of Santa Sara is dressed in blue, pink, white and gold. Adornment of flowers, jewels and colored scarves are placed on the image, so that it is taken to the procession at sea.

Devotees seek to obtain graces in the eyes of the saint, which is where everything is contained: the strength of God, the strength of the mother, the strength of the love of the sister and the woman, the strength of the hands, the energy, the smile, the magic of touch and peace. And so, everyone who seeks grace in her eyes always returns to the Saint’s feet to give thanks.

protected

Santa Sara Kali protects women who are having trouble getting pregnant. Many gypsies who were unable to have children made promises to her to get pregnant. If this actually happened, the pregnant women would go to the Santa’s crypt, in Saintes Maries de La Mer, in the south of France, make a night of vigil and deposit a diklô (gypsy handkerchief) at their feet as an offering, the most beautiful they could find. . In the crypt there are thousands of handkerchiefs, as proof that many gypsies have received this grace.

legends

There are many legends about Santa. Some say that she was Mary’s servant and midwife and that it was she who brought Jesus into the world. Another legend says that she was a servant of Mary Magdalene.

The most common legend tells that Mary Magdalene, Mary Jacobina, Mary Salomé, Joseph of Arimathea and Trofinus, along with Sarah, a servant, were thrown into the sea, in a boat without oars and without provisions.

Desperate, the three Marias began to pray and cry. At this moment, Sara takes the diklô (handkerchief) from her head, calls out to Jesus Christ and promises that if everyone were saved she would be a slave of Jesus and would never walk around with her head uncovered as a sign of respect. Miraculously, the boat, aimless and at the mercy of all the weather, crossed the ocean and landed with everyone safe at Saintes-Maries-de-La-Mer. Sara kept the promise to the end of her days.

Today, people make all kinds of requests to Santa Sara, as she has a reputation for serving all those who have true faith.
