Learn prayers to transform and improve your life

After the vexation of the Selection in the World Cup, many comments and suggestions are being made about the future of Brazilian football. I chose two words that I want to analyze and that should serve as a lesson and inspiration to all of us in any area and stage of life: change and transformation.

Changes are always welcome after a defeat. If something doesn’t go well or doesn’t work out, it needs to change. Change people, minds, ideas, ways of living, seeing and doing. The best example of change is the German team, which a few years ago recognized the poor performance and decided to change everything.

German football has changed, renewed and transformed. Transformation of mentality and energy, which resulted in a style of play that was totally victorious in the 2014 World Cup. A transformation that began in 2000 and was elaborated, worked on, polished, adjusted year after year, until reaching the desired result: four-time world champion.

Transforming is a radial shift in our lives, minds and behaviors. True transformation is a phoenix. Die and rise from the ashes. Reborn to a new phase of life, with new inspiration and renewed ideas.

This can happen to any person, group or company that goes through the transformation process until reaching the final goal and being completely reborn. But a personal transformation is not always radical or painful.

Two points must be highlighted for those who want to transform: wanting and having the courage to carry out the transformation until the end. Transformation is work and takes time, but the result is worth it.

As you think about the transformations in your life, learn two prayers that will help you through the changes.

Transformation prayer

Lord, our omnipotent God, transformer and creator. God of paternal peace and maternal love, we gather before you with our pleas of despair, our hearts filled with hope. Gracious God, your church experienced the pangs of birth and childhood on the shores of the Mediterranean. It remains with your church throughout its growth throughout the world, as it passes into its adult stage and full unity. With the church still in its teens we pray for the gift of transformation. It revives in us the spirit of community, molds our thoughts into thoughts of love. Inspire in us a sense of your peace. Grant us the courage and ability to always accept the transformation of ourselves and others, of those who suffer and those who cause suffering, of the victims and their tormentors and of all your people. In a world filled with violence and hatred, in a world where discrimination and inequality are rampant, it cultivates in us the seeds of unity and gives us the vision to see and resolve our divisions. Prepare our hearts, minds and hands to reap your harvest. Amen.

Transformation Prayer II

May the great sun illuminate our homes, may the sky show us its value, may the supreme life of every supreme being show the beauty of all love. May a ship bring us the truth, may a life teach us about death, may health reveal to us illness. Transport fear to another dimension. Let’s smile instead of crying only after having already cried. Let’s make them laugh with the friendly presence, of a brother friend always smiling at us. It makes the weather open, which is blackened by the rain, only after everything has already rained. It cleanses, thus, the sorrows of our hearts. But, we ask, mercy for the homeless and buried by the storm. May we remember to be grateful. May we still our minds to pray. May we be humble to kneel at your feet. May we ask forgiveness for the faults for not really knowing how to love. Amen.
