Discover 10 mobile apps that help you lose weight

Mobile applications Smartphones are increasingly popular. In addition to entertaining the user with games and different types of social networks, some apps also have public utility, such as “Medida Certa” and “Diet 2Go” that help users lose weight. There are several other applications with this same function, which are available for Android, iOS (iPhone and iPad), BlackBerry and Windows Phone technologies. In addition, there are free versions and others with prices ranging from US$1.99 to US$4.99, around R$2 to R$10. Discover ten applications that promise to help control the scale:

1 – Calorie Tracker ($2.99)

Complete, the application helps the user to calculate the consumption of daily calories, through graphs, tables, calculators and also offers a cookbook, with suggestions for healthy dishes. Calorie Tracker has a database of about 30,000 foods, so that the user can reach the exact number of calories consumed, and can also know exactly how much he wants to lose weight.

2 – Diet and Health (Free)

One of the advantages of this application is the language: developed in Portuguese, users who are not comfortable with the usual English can take advantage of the app’s tools, which include an updated scale with the user’s calorie gain and loss. In addition, the system also presents a point count, in which each food has a certain value.

3 – Diet 2Go (Free)

If you like to follow some ready-made diets to lose weight, then Diet 2Go is worth downloading. This app offers different types of meals and provides details of each one. In addition, it still provides three diets to the user: the carbohydrate diet, the blood type diet and the vegetarian diet.

4 – Jefit (Free*)

Jefit is not associated with diets, but with physical exercise. The application shows the user more than 300 types of physical activities associated with weight loss. Ideal for those who don’t have time to go to the gym, but want to lose a few pounds.

5 – Meal Snap ($2.99)

In Meal Snap, the user photographs the plate of food, writes a short description and the application itself provides an estimate of the caloric amount of the plate and how many calories the user can still consume to maintain the diet.

6 – Right Measure (Free)

The application was developed as a program to encourage the practice of physical exercises and food reeducation. The initiative came from the television program “Fantástico”, which launched a segment with the same name, in which the presenters Zeca Camargo and Renata Ceribelli underwent a three-month process of dietary readjustment combined with daily physical activity practices. The application shows indexes from the World Health Organization and has videos by personal trainer Márcio Atalla, who gives tips on physical activities and the presenters, who tell how they managed to leave old habits behind.

7 – My Fitness Pal (Free)

My Fitness Pal has several features: in addition to counting calories and providing more than 600,000 light recipes to the user, the application also works in parallel with the website, which allows the creation of a blog to share experiences regarding the app.

One of the features of Nutra Bem allows the user to follow the food groups consumed weekly, to know if there is a balanced or unbalanced diet, the calculation of calories to achieve the goal of weight loss or gain and even allows the user to simulate the meals.

9 – Sports Tracker (Free)

Sports Tracker is ideal for those who enjoy walking and running. The application monitors steps during physical activity and then shows current and past results so that the user can compare and see their progress.

In Weightbot, the user provides personal information such as age, weight and height and the application calculates the BMI (Body Mass Index) and provides graphs that show data regarding the user’s calorie and evolution.
