15 games to do with the kids at Easter

The search for Easter eggs is one of the most classic and beloved games to play on the date! But you can innovate and surprise the little ones with fun and even educational games. It’s going to be hard to do just one! See how the scavenger hunts work, which will make the atmosphere inside the house more fun:

Bunny comes out of the hole

Divided into threes, two children form the burrow and one of them becomes the rabbit. To make the burrow, the pair put their hands together in the air, forming a little house. Whoever is the rabbit crouches between them, under their arms. And all the other trios do the same, leaving only one of the children, who will stand between the burrows and must shout: “Rabbit comes out of the burrow!”. By doing this, all rabbits that are holed up need to change their hutch. Whoever was in the middle must have taken one of someone’s burrows! If you succeed, the one left without a burrow is the one who starts screaming in the center of the space. She can also say “Play a seat change!”. In this case, it is the burrows that must change rabbits.

Hot/Cold mini-eggs

Divide the children into two or more teams, depending on the number. Hide the mini-eggs in different places and, while they are looking, you must let them know if they are “hot” (close) or “cold” (far) from the chocolates. As they are found, they should place a basket. The team with the most will be the winner. In order not to fight, at the end of the game, divide all the eggs equally among the little ones.

the bunny jump

Make two parallel lines using chalk. You can start with a small distance between the two, as the objective is to see who can jump the most. Improvise bunny ears to make the game even more fun!

The Rabbit’s Tail

A well-known gymkhana is to put the cotton tail (or wool) in the bunny drawing. Very simple, you don’t need a lot of materials: just a cotton ball, a card with a rabbit drawn on it, crepe tape and a blindfold for the children’s eyes. Blindfolded, they must hit the pom-pom in the right place in the drawing!

Egg hunt

The most traditional of gymkhanas, the egg hunt is very easy to prepare. Without the children seeing it, you must hide the Easter egg around the house or even the condominium. When they wake up, distribute clues about the hiding places, in addition to creating a “trail” of rabbit paws to the eggs. A good idea is to separate them by color: that way no child is left without their candy!

messy bunny

To entertain the little ones during family lunch, how about making them find items that the Messy Rabbit lost around the house? Make a drawing of the animal on cardboard using different accessories (shoes, hat, bracelet, glasses…) and tell how the bunny lost the pieces. Afterwards, just ask them to search the house! Ah, to increase the fun even more, leave eggs near the objects.

The Carrot Face

Want a prank tip with food other than chocolate? Then this one is perfect for you! Cut medium slices of carrots and distribute among all participants. Each one must place their slice on the eye, with their head tilted back. When giving the signal, players need to take the circle from the eyes to the mouth. But attention: you can’t use your hands!

rabbit – detective

If you’re familiar with the detective game, you’ll like this Easter version. Place different animals on different pieces of paper. Fold and distribute among players. Whoever is the rabbit must wink at the other participants, but without being seen! Whenever someone gets the wink, eat a candy and say which animal it is. The player who finds out who the rabbit is takes all the chocolates!

sweet tooth rabbit

Using a cardboard box, draw a rabbit and cut a half circle out of the box. Distribute colored balls of any kind among the children. Determine a reasonable distance from the box and tell them to hit the balls in the rabbit’s mouth. Whoever manages to put the most balls in the rabbit wins: and the prize can be in chocolate, of course!

eggbreaker

Cracking eggs is so much fun, even with friends! But to avoid dirt, you can replace the egg yolks and whites with confetti or glitter. It’s easy: pierce the eggs using a pin and make a hole big enough to empty the egg. Then wash it off and use glitter, confetti, or glitter to refill it. Divide the eggs among the children and let them have fun! Tip: the photos look amazing!

egg fishing

You know the plastic egg cups that are left over after the kids have devoured the chocolates? So, you can use them to make a different “fishing”: put a little rice or beans inside the caps and leave them in a basin with water. With a sieve, each tries to catch an egg. You can mark the time or establish different punctuation by colors. They will love it!

egg dominoes

For those who love to play dominoes, this tip is great: you can make your own game at home, in the shape of an egg. Simply choose three cardstock colors and cut them out of a large oval shape. Using tape, cut and glue small strips to make the domino divider. With pen or sequins, mark the dots: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Once ready, just throw them on the living room floor!

different memory game

Separate 6 different foods that rabbits like to eat: fruits, carrots, dried fruits, for example. With the plastic egg cartons, hide these foodstuffs in pairs. Each child is entitled to one attempt at finding the same foods (and then devouring them!). Whoever manages to find the most combinations wins.

combination of eggs

This one is cool and educational: on the sheet of bond paper, print drawings of eggs that have only the outline. Then ask the little ones to paint, one by one, with different colors and styles. Anything goes: polka dots, stripes, hearts, flowers… Cut each egg in half as if they were two V’s (VVV) going up and down. Distribute among the children and ask them to find the same drawing.

feed the rabbit

This game is more suitable for younger children, as the older ones may find it silly. Using a kraft paper bag, draw a bunny. Then ask the little ones to make different shapes of carrots: round, square, triangular, heart… Once the carrots are ready, “dress” the bag in your hand as if it were a puppet and, making a rabbit voice from the Easter, ask for the shapes of the carrots: “Oh, the Bunny is hungry for carrots! Who has?”. They will love it and learn to identify shapes!
