This tattoo artist reproduces old photos in an incredible way

A lot of people turn up their noses at the idea of ​​tattooing photographs, as the chances of the result being strange are great. But, contrary to those who seek to reproduce images with maximum realism, a Turkish tattoo artist is making success with his unique style.

PigmentNinjathe artistic name of Alican Gorgu, uses a simple and delicate stroke to tattoo old photos. Another detail is that it leaves the faces blank, which looks weird, but creates a very interesting result.

“I work with small spaces and minimize details – focusing on what is essential – to transfer these memories to the skin”, said the tattoo artist in an interview with Bored Panda. He calls his style “retro minimalist”.

Graduated in photography, PigmentNinja he ended up discovering that his true passion was tattooing and not cameras. At first, he dedicated himself to transforming film images into tattoos, but soon the idea of ​​reproducing old photos came up. “The feeling of tattooing photographs taken in different parts of the world and at other times is indescribable”.
