‘Motomami’ It is a word that has recently become popular among young people thanks to the Spanish singer: Rosalia.

Rosalía visited Mexico to promote his most recent musical production, which is called ‘Motomami’, which, by the way, is sweeping the internet and is playing everywhere.

What does ‘Motomami’ mean, according to Rosalía?

The singer-songwriter decided to name her album ‘Motomami’ in honor of his grandmother and his mother, who has always been a fan of motorcycles and inherited that same love.

He also said that the meaning comes from the Japanese word ‘Motorcycle’ what does it mean hard and the word ‘Mommy’ which clearly does connotation to the figure of the mother and to women as the power of creation.

In this sense, The word ‘Motomami’ is the perfect fusion of the words: woman, strength, mother, grandmother and the love of motorcycles..

In addition, Rosalia He told his fans that when his mother was young “I used to take her for rides on a Harley Davidson.” and she assured that when that happened her mother would leave the house dressed in black leather (a black leather vest), boots, loose curly hair, rings and earrings, which is why it has always inspired her.

‘Motomami is an energy, that’s how I felt. I had done most of the songs and I was really thinking about what I’m going to call this album, what it’s going to be called, what it’s going to reflect and the most honest thing you can do is collect what’s happening. I think at that moment it was this word because it has that duality. Moto is the most aggressive side and Mami is the most vulnerable side. On this album there are songs with very aggressive drums and there are more ballad-like songs, more connected to that sensitive place,’ he explained.
