What happens to children who die early?

This Thursday, April 7, a man invaded and shot students at the Tasso de Oliveira Municipal School, killing innocent children as well as injuring other teenagers.

According to Allan Kardec, the spirit of children who disincarnate at an early age can be as advanced as that of an adult, as they would have lived longer in other incarnations and would have had more experience. These spirits may then be more advanced than their parents. When these beings of light die at an early age, it is an indication that their spirits belong to the higher grades and even the angelic hosts. God, in his wisdom, exempted them from the greater privations and trials that they might experience in the course of their earthly lives. The degree of purity of these teenagers is not because they have animated the bodies of children, but because of the progress they have already made in the spiritual life and in their past lives.

A teenager’s life is often interrupted in a stupid and cruel way, but the duration of a child’s life can be, for the spirit that is incarnated in it, the complement of a previous existence interrupted before time. In other cases, death is an ordeal or an atonement for the parents.

The spirit of a dying child has almost immediately the mission of starting a new existence.

Afterwards, the spirit will choose its future kinship bond and will incarnate in the body of a man or a woman. It matters little; once there are several existences, kinship is established between the spirits, ties that go back to previous existences.

The doctrine of reincarnation presents itself as a way of uniting ties, since kinship, being founded on previous affections, makes the ties that unite the members of the same family more vigorous. In addition, it also expands the duties of the fraternity, since, among neighbors or among servants, one can find a spirit that was linked in the past by blood ties.
