Spices that help you lose weight –

There are several options of herbs and spices that, in addition to making the dishes tastier, stir up the metabolism, increasing fat burning. They also fight inflammation in the body by decreasing resistance to weight loss. There’s more: when you put this group on the plate, you tend to use less salt, which reduces the liquid retention – another point in favor of a lean body.

Nutritionist and herbalist Lucyanna Kalluf, author of the book Functional Phytotherapy (Editora Vozes), suggests cayenne pepper, cinnamon, star anise, turmeric, parsley and oregano. And it guides how to use them to make the menu tastier and you happy with the result of the diet. Learn more about these foods below:

1. Oregano

It has the power to stimulate the production of enzymes responsible for the digestion of carbohydrates (bread, potatoes, pizza…), in addition to working as a digestive tonic. It is also antioxidant and mildly diuretic.

Usage suggestion:

Sprinkle in pasta, sauce, soup… Add to juice (blend 1 tbsp (tea) of oregano with 1 cup (200 ml) of watermelon) Make tea (boil 1 cup (200 ml) of water and add 1 tbsp. ( coffee) of oregano. Let it rest for 5 minutes and strain)

2. Cayenne pepper

It surpasses red pepper in capsaicin – a substance that satisfies, stimulates metabolism and improves circulation. In other words, cayenne reduces hunger, accelerates the burning of calories and helps eliminate toxins. It has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory action.

Usage suggestion:

Dilute 1/2 col. (coffee) powdered cayenne pepper in 1 col. (soup) olive oil to season the salad In the juice, mix coconut water (200 ml), juice of 1 lemon, 2 col. (tea) of honey and 1/2 col. (coffee) of cayenne

3. Star Anise

Even eating little, do you feel your stomach heavy? This complicates any diet, but anise can be an ally. With substances that stimulate the glands and musculature of the digestive tract, it increases saliva production and peristalsis, relieving weight in the stomach.

Usage suggestion:

Prepare a tea with fennel, ginger, chamomile and mint. Strain and add 1 starry anise. Drink 15 minutes before meals.

4. Parsley

It has a diuretic effect (especially in the form of tea), helping to reduce gas formation and abdominal swelling. It still contains substances that favor digestion, clean the liver and rid the body of toxins.

Usage suggestion:

Detox juice made with 1 cup. of hibiscus tea (use 2 col. (tea) of the herb), 1 small apple and 1 col. (dessert) of chopped parsley. Purée in a blender and sweeten with honey Sprinkle the parsley on the omelette, on the salad, on the soup…

5. Turmeric

This root (also known as turmeric) decreases the blood supply to the adipose tissue, weakening the fat reserve. And, as it is rich in curcumin – a golden yellow pigment with high anti-inflammatory and antioxidant power – it is good for the skin, protects the liver, facilitates protein digestion and regulates metabolism.

Usage suggestion:

Sprinkle 1 col. (tea) of turmeric powder in ready-to-eat food or dissolve it in 1 col. (soup) olive oil to season the salad

6. Cinnamon

Capable of taming hunger, especially for sweets, it helps you consume fewer calories throughout the day. The antioxidant and anti-inflammatory substances of cinnamon improve fat metabolism. It also reduces insulin levels – a hormone that, in excess, increases fat in the abdomen.

Usage suggestion:

Make a 1 cup. (tea) of apple with cinnamon stick and drink 15 minutes before meals. At breakfast, sprinkle 1 col. (coffee) cinnamon powder in skimmed or soy milk
