Seems like the reign of the chorus “I am Brazilian / With great pride / With much love” has its days numbered. After decades of being sung at sporting events in which Brazil participates, the old hymn begins to share space with a hit that promises to win the stadiums of the World Cup 2018 in Russia.
Entitled of “The only penta is Brasilzão”the song that talks about the players who made history by winning our five world titles (which took place in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002) was sung when the players arrived in the city of St. in the competition (see how the moment of reception was in the video below):
The new war cry was created by Luiz Carvalho, a member of the Movimento Verde Amarelo. On their YouTube channel, the group explains the motivation for the new lyrics: “A lot of people complained that the Brazilian fans didn’t have creative songs or that they even didn’t have fans. Everything sucks.”
