Learn the prayer to protect drivers

At some time of the week, if not every day, we move from place to place by some means of locomotion. Whether it’s a car, subway, bus, truck, boat, motorcycle, plane or bicycle, we use a vehicle to get to an appointment, work, home or leisure.

Depending on our work or schedule, we spend hours inside the vehicle, concentrating on our tasks, lives or paying attention to nothing. For many, a vehicle is a second home or an extension of it.

When we have our own car, motorcycle or bicycle, the care and affection we have for them is the same as for a member of our family or a very close friend.

The same care we have to take when we drive. Every driver knows that a lot of attention and care is needed when driving. A conscientious driver knows that his life, the life of his family, the lives of many people he transports or circulates on his return or journey, are directly or indirectly under his responsibility and care.

The driver, when driving a vehicle, has in his hands the power to decide whether he will have a smooth journey or whether he will put his life and that of others at risk. The driver must be aware that the act of driving is sacred and important for the good of everyone on a daily basis.

When you drive, ask for protection. When getting into a vehicle someone is going to drive, ask for protection and blessing from whoever is driving. This small act is as great as conscious driving.

Below is a prayer to ask drivers for protection.

“O Lord, through the intercession of Saint Christopher, patron saint of drivers, give us firmness and vigilance in the many paths of life in search of work, leisure, happiness and fulfillment. to the destination without accidents and setbacks.

Protect, O Lord, the drivers who drive the modern means of transport. May they be guided by your Spirit, and so act wisely and respect traffic laws.

Protect, O Lord, those who walk with us and help us to respect everyone, pedestrians and passers-by, always acting with prudence.

Protect, O Lord, the young people who lead and give them a heart that is always turned to life. May they discover your living presence in the world and respect everyone. May they always grow guided by your Spirit so that they may be the protagonists of the new society of the third millennium.

Comfort, O Lord, the families who have lost loved ones, victims of the cruel Brazilian traffic. Give them the hope they need to live in your presence without condemnation or rancor.

May we, Lord, discover your presence in nature and in everything that surrounds us, thus loving life more and more.

Amen”
