Healing Your Child Empowers Your Adult Self |

As Freud and Jung said, what we experience in childhood impacts the rest of our days. It’s so important to look at this! It’s not enough to know, rationally, that our parents did their best, that they were out of balance, that they didn’t know what they were doing when they treated you in a certain way. For some reason (which even Freud doesn’t explain!), this child that we were, especially from 0 to 7 years old, continues with its energy alive and active in our subconscious.

Our parents are our ultimate heroes when we are little – no matter how full of light or shadows. They were considered our kings and queens, what they said and felt was taken by us children as absolute truth and what they told us deeply impacted our subconscious.

So, if for some reason you didn’t feel seen, if you felt rejected, abandoned, criticized, charged, those pains remain in there, at your subconscious level. And you, as an adult, start to attract different situations to continue being…rejected, charged, abandoned, criticized.

Your inner child needs attention

All of this may sound crazy, but the fact is that we attract what we emanate. Then, if the wound has not completely healed, we emanate the energy of that pain. And by the law of attraction explained by quantum physics, we begin to attract situations that are energetically compatible with our pain. There is a wonderful opportunity there: to see what the universe prints right in our face. “Hey, there’s this pain here, look at it”.

When we look at pain, we get out of the mud, quicksand, comfort zone, and face the discomfort of facing memories that can make us cry, feel sadness, emptiness, anger. But you know what? This is the way to our liberation, friends. We come to see and welcome these moments with more affection and compassion for ourselves.

I’ve been saying that in order to be good activists and agents of change for whatever cause, it’s essential that we embrace ourselves first. May we heal, strengthen ourselves – and lovingly look at the little child we once were and who, again, is still alive and active in our subconscious is the cornerstone of a long, beautiful and liberating healing process.

With my work as a facilitator of self-transformation processes, I observe how beautiful and liberating it is when someone decides to face themselves lovingly, without judgment and immerse themselves in childhood memories. At this stage of life, our pains and strengths are clear. It is in childhood that we manifest our purest essence – which is a key to discovering how much we are aligned or misaligned in our adult life – in relation to relationships, profession, emotional state as level of enthusiasm, among many other things.

This topic generates many conversations and I want to end this article with some questions for you to ask yourself. Before, put on some good music to play, light a candle, an incense, something that makes you sacred that moment in some way.

Place fixed, let’s go:

When you think about your childhood, what memory comes to mind first? How do you feel about that memory? After these memories, imagine yourself hugging your child, tell him how much you love him and are beside him. It will be a beautiful reunion with yourself. Write the experience you had. Take the first (or next) step.
