Everyone wants a love to call their own, but few truly give themselves to love.

Love is not selfish, to love is to know that the happiness of the other is yours too. To love is to want to improve, to strive to understand, to forgive. And trust is nothing more than having faith in someone else.

Where there is God there is no room for hurt and rancor, where there is God there is dialogue, because God is love and whoever loves takes good care of him.

But loving can hurt and on impulse we can put everything at risk – and that’s where God teaches us not to act without thinking… and also to forgive, to fix it, because love is not thrown away.

There are days that “it’s just for God!” – love is like that, it’s really hard, like the best things in life. But where there is God, there is the certainty that there is a greater plan for each of us and for the two of us together.

The truth is that where there is God, nothing is lacking. God is the foundation of any happy relationship and the closer we are to the Lord, the closer we are to each other.

So whatever it may be, God will always be the basis of our love.
