Did you know that your bedding can disturb your sleep? – GOOD SHAPE

It may not seem like it, but the quality of your sleep is directly linked to the state of your bedding. “Mites, sweat and dead cells make it difficult for air to flow and thus contribute to an increase in body temperature”, warns personal organizer Luara Faria, from São Paulo. Get rid of this nightmare!

1. Mattress
More important than washing it is preserving it. Dressing it in a cover (preferably hypoallergenic) prevents liquids from penetrating the surface. Passing a vacuum cleaner and a brush with soft bristles is enough for maintenance.

2. Bed linen
In hot seasons, try to wash the sheets every five days. Already in the cold, putting them in the machine every ten days is enough to avoid asthma attacks and other allergies. When you get up, wait half an hour before making the bed (this gives you time to ventilate the area).

Worth the investment: bedding with a high percentage of cotton and threads per inch is lighter and more durable.

3. Pillow
To avoid the proliferation of fungi, keep the pillow away from the sun and change the water and soap for the vacuum cleaner. Before placing the pillowcase, shake it to remove dead cells.
