Chromotherapy and Mandalas |

You must know Chromotherapy, a therapy in which color is used to establish balance and harmony in the body, mind and emotions. But what you may not know is that you can use all the energy of colors in the design of a mandala.

Mandala is a Sanskrit word that means circle. Each mandala creates a field of energy and intense magnetism, in which working the colors we can seek self-knowledge, well-being, balance and relaxation.

If we look around us, we can find mandalas everywhere, in flowers, in shells, in stars, in fruits like a kiwi or an orange for example. Do an exercise and observe everything around you, mandalic shapes are everywhere.

In the East, Tibetans believe that the mandala brings knowledge to reach enlightenment in this life. Already the color represents a state of mind and brings to the individual a meaning for that moment of his life.

What colors do you need in your current moment?

Many emotional states are demonstrated in the colors of a mandala, through observation work, meditation or painting the mandala itself. We bring answers to our questions to our conscience or quiet our mind, thus improving states of anxiety and stress.

Many emotional states are shown in the colors of a mandala.

And how to get a mandala or even draw it and know what colors you need in your current life moment? You can learn to draw and paint a mandala through a course, look for images of mandalas in books or websites or buy them in Indian or esoteric stores.

The way to color it is up to you: with colored pencils, colored pens, crayons or even computer software, if you have the skills to do so. You’ll realize it’s like becoming a child again, playing with shapes and colors.

If you bought the mandala or created it, note the meanings of the colors that caught your attention at the time of purchase or that you used to color it:

Red: it’s stimulating, removes depression, takes away discouragement. It is the color of conquests, passions and sexuality. When the color red is in a mandala, it needs to be used well, as it can make the person sleepy or irritable. Yellow: it is activating and dynamic, it acts on mental processes. Yellow drives away fixed ideas and increases reasoning ability. It is the color of intelligence, study and creativity. Orange: it is restorative and regenerative, it brings recovery after a destructive process and the ability to remake what is not right. It’s the color of courage, rebuilding and improvement. Green: it’s calming and balancing. Green improves any negative physical state and energizes the body and soul. When a mandala is green in color, its vibrations are always energizing and, whatever the level, it is beneficial for everyone. Blue: brings balance, patience, harmony and serenity, reassures the body and mind. Helps in cases of insomnia and stress. Indigo: works on energy balance, intuition, protection, cleaning and purification of environments. Violet or Lilac: is deeply spiritual, mystical and religious. Violet acts on those who are spiritually unbalanced, disbelieving and without connection with divine forces. When a mandala is violet or lilac in color, it cleans and isolates the environments it is in. Pink: works affectivity, love, harmony, unity, helps balance personal and professional relationships.

What benefits can a mandala bring? As you saw above, there are many, depending on the colors chosen: ability to concentrate, creativity, reduced anxiety and stress, physical and emotional balance, improved self-esteem, among others.
