[ATUALIZADO] Understand all about the ‘LDRV Vault’ controversy

Save this date: February 1, 2017, the day that will be known in the future of the internet by the hashtag #CofreLDRV. But, after all, what does that mean?

It all started when a user of a closed Facebook group called “LDRV”, an abbreviation of the name “Lana Del Rey Vevo”, the famous humor page of the social network, decided to make the following post on January 26:

The story, wonderful in itself, went viral, became number one on Twitter’s Trending Topics and since the beginning of the week has been mobilizing part of the internet to discover the contents of the safe that should be revealed this Wednesday, around 8 pm.

The owner of the post (he’s a publicist, okay? ), of course, didn’t imagine this absurd repercussion and is scared to death of his mother’s reaction if she finds out that the world wide web is his accomplice in the #MysteryOfSafe.

But, on Twitter, he decided to joke about the situation too:

And, among people who doubt the veracity of the story and others who are very curious and creating different theories, most actually preferred to make jokes about the case. And, yes, companies and even the Evaristo Costa joined in the fun.

Yes, the story was real and had a much more exciting outcome than the crowd expected. In the group, the author of the post revealed:

“My family didn’t know I was gay, and life went on as normal. While I’m living in another city my mom found out and told my dad and stuff. This safe was all a game that my mother set up with my father and my brother to get me on the wall, they got together to tell me if I liked hiding family secrets. My mom said ‘You think we don’t know, it’s good that everyone knows but us? Did you think this business of hiding family secrets was cool? Did you like wanting to know what was in the safe?’ THAT IS, I became the color of a smurf watching the house fall. Yes people, MY MOM GAVE ME THE BIGGEST ‘SLAP IN THE FACE’ today and the biggest lesson in life; she said she would have accepted it forever, to never let her discover things from other people’s mouths and everything else that mothers say. Translating: my mother figured this all out and did it all in the most unexpected way I ever expected in my life. I’m still laughing nervously, bigger climate here. The safe has family stuff and a little money kept, but she didn’t even open it for me to see, and I was so nervous that I didn’t even care. And that was it people, I don’t know what to say, just feel.”
