The following stories of people who quit alcohol show that, although everyone’s reasons are different, the ultimate goal is the same – a healthier life.

1. This woman, who was kicked out of school at age 14, beat alcoholism and depression and graduated from medical school 15 years later

2. I stopped drinking when my daughter was born. I’ve been sober for 5 years now.

16. Before and After 307 Days Sober

17. I just found an old photo of me on Facebook. I’m about 9 months without drinking since the moment she was taken.

18. It doesn’t seem like much to some, but 100 days without alcohol has made a big difference in my life. Don’t let fear of judgment get in the way of a better life.

20. On the left – In 2009 I had a relapse after 6 months without drinking, as I was weak in seeking ‘happiness’ in drinking after a divorce. Right – In 2017 I celebrated 7 years of sobriety, lost 13 pounds, and today I accept my body, explore my sexuality, and thrive on the uniqueness of who I am.

22. I stopped drinking 1 year ago exactly when I took this photo on the left. I lost about 10 pounds.

23. I lost 77 pounds in 18 months. Sobriety, diet and exercise brought the result I had hoped for.
