10 Disney characters who deserved their own movies

As wonderful as she is, the fish Dory went from supporting role to main star, 13 years after “Finding Nemo”. It took a while, but the beauty returned to theaters in June and it was an absolute success! Not that this is the first time Disney has invested in such projects. Timon and Pumbaa, Tinkerbell from Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh Tigger, for example, they have already won their own films, but with productions that are way more modest than “Finding Dory”. A really triumphant return to theaters, like the peixinha, was something unheard of until then! And we believe that others sidekicks loved ones also deserved to have their stories told in style.

1. Genie of the Lamp (Aladdin)

Disclosure

Since 2015 there have been rumors that the blue genie will actually get his own movie, but with real actors and not in animated form. It would be another project along the lines of “Maleficent”, “Cinderella”, “Beauty and the Beast” and many others. But will a character as ~different~ as the genius work in the scheme live action🇧🇷 It’s wait and see!

2. Zip (Beauty and the Beast)

Disclosure

In fact, ALL the castle helpers deserved to have their stories told, right? But perhaps the best way to do this would be through the vision of our beloved and very curious baby cup.

3. Nala (The Lion King)

Disclosure

One thing is not disputed: Timon and Pumbaa are the most beloved characters in “The Lion King” (and of all time, some will say), but have you ever stopped to think about how interesting a movie about Nala could be? And it has the potential to be a totally girlpower story! Remember how, when she found Simba again, she was on a mission to get food and water? Proof that Nala is a tough girl and it would be lovely to know more about her story, whether before or after Simba’s return to the kingdom stone.

4. Bing Bong (Mind Fun)

Disclosure

Admit it, your heart sank when you saw Bing Bong saving the day in “Inside Out”. The scene of him being forgotten by Riley was heartbreaking and certainly the character would yield a film of its own. For those who don’t know, fans of the cartoon have a theory about the flower on the pink elephant’s coat. The petals have six different colors: red, yellow, blue, green, lilac and orange. Only the color orange doesn’t match one of Riley’s feelings, which could mean there’s a sixth, as-yet-unrevealed emotion. A movie about Bing Bong could solve this mystery!

5. Sebastian (The Little Mermaid)

How wonderful would a musical à la “Glee” where Sebastian tutors a sea choir be? Roll up to call Dory for a cameo with her “Keep swimming”. Disney, please make this happen!

6. Olaf (Frozen)

Disclosure

This sequence would show the snowman as Anna and Elsa’s faithful squire after peace returned to the kingdom. How is his interaction with the crowd? What will it be like when the warm days finally arrive? We just hope Elza finds a way to make him realize his dream of enjoying the summer without melting!

7. Esmeralda (The Hunchback of Notre Dame)

Disclosure

Just like Nala, Esmeralda is also a girl. badass that deserved more attention. The beauty was an orphan all her life, suffered at the hands of the disgusting Frollo, was the only one to defend Quasimodo and came back on top! Despite “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” being a half-forgotten movie in the Disney universe, there is no doubt that the gypsy is a character that makes a lot of difference.

8. Boo (SA Monsters)

Disclosure

Imagine a sequence where Boo is now a teenager and is putting aside her friendship with Sulley and Mike, as she is more interested in ~grown-up~ stuff. It would be cool to see this discovery process and the task force of monsters to continue being part of the girl’s life.

9. Sauerkraut (A Bug’s Life)

Disclosure

Sounds like a lie, but it’s been EIGHTEEN years since “A Bug’s Life” arrived in our lives! If you were a fan of this beautiful drawing, you certainly remember Sauerkraut, a larva that speaks French and dreams of becoming a butterfly. His cuteness and naivety managed to make him a character more beloved than the ants themselves! It certainly deserved to get its own movie.

10. The Mice (Cinderella)

Disclosure

Long before “Ratatouille”, Cinderella’s bffs already made us have mixed feelings about small rodents. They are simply amazing and steal the scene at various times in the film. It would be nice to get to know better that little community of mice that sing, sew and are always messing around with their stepmother’s cat. Imagine what their luxurious life in the castle would be like after Cinderella marries the prince!
