When something invisible touches your back

Friday at the Paranormal Clinic of , this time with an extremely common experience: the feeling that something invisible is touching your back (see: When something invisible touches you)

After the experience we will say something about this phenomenon.

***

First I want to say hello to the team. I love the Paranormal Clinic section and I want to share my experience. Actually, there are three. I will try to be as brief as possible.

The first occurred around 3 in the morning. She was lying on her side, with her hair tied up, and the left side of her neck exposed. It was the middle of summer, so she wasn’t covered up. I had headphones on and was listening to music when I felt like two fingers were touching my neck, not in different places, but it felt like the two fingers were held together (see: I can’t sleep without covering my ears!)

As soon as it happened, I took out my headphones and sat down. She was terrified. I couldn’t move. I remember finally going back to bed, but I was so afraid to close my eyes that I sat there preparing for something horrible to happen at any moment (see: A Spirit Is Trying to Communicate with Me)

I had never experienced anything like this before. In bed I sometimes feel like something is touching my back, like it’s gently caressing me, but I’m sure there’s an explanation for that. However, this touching my neck thing was horrible because you could really feel the fingers on me. It made me feel very vulnerable (see: I feel watched in my house)

My second experience occurred around midnight. She was lying there trying to fall asleep, when I swear I heard the door knob start to move. Suddenly, the room felt very cold (see: “Cold Spots” and ghosts). Then, before I could react, I felt large, cold fingers pressing into my back and slowly moving up my spine until they reached my hip area.

My third experience also happened at night. I was falling asleep and I felt someone rubbing my back. I was in bed with my husband, however, I was lying on my side, facing him. My back was not close to him; in fact, he was already snoring at the time (see: Signs There’s a Spirit in Your House)

So, just as I was about to fall asleep, I feel someone invisible touching my back, as if gently caressing me from the bottom of my back up. Seeing that it wasn’t my husband, my heart started to race. I shifted, uncomfortably, and thought of any logical excuse not to worry too much (see: Something Invisible Came Into Bed With Me).

I went back to the same sleeping position, and again I got to that moment before I fell completely asleep, and it happened again! I was scared, very scared, so I literally didn’t move. I felt an invisible hand on my back a third time a few seconds later, when I was already completely awake and alert (see: Feeling that there is a spirit in the house)

I said a few prayers, although I am not a religious woman, and after a while I finally fell asleep. However, throughout the next day I felt a strange sensation of energy in that part of my back. It doesn’t hurt, but I can feel energy flowing in that area or something (see: Astral Parasites and “Bad Energy”)

After that, other episodes have occurred, but never so marked. For example, being in the shower, rinsing my hair, and feeling something touch me on the hip, as if it was trying to get my attention, when there was no one in the bathroom with me and the door was closed (see: Negative energy in my house it manifested)

I hope I have not extended too much. I await with great interest the response from .

Before analyzing this phenomenon, it is important to clarify that tactile hallucinations are very common. It is the perception that something touches us when in reality there is no external stimulus to justify it.

Tactile hallucination, then, is a false sensory perception of physical contact with a person or object that is not there. Like many forms of hallucinations, this one is not limited to people suffering from mental illness. They can have many causes. One of the most common is feeling that there are things moving around our body, like insects crawling under or over the skin. This is usually called Formication.

That being said, let’s get into the paranormal realm.

Tactile sensations are a very common paranormal phenomenon, but one that is easily dismissed, except when it is recurrent. In spiritualism, for example, these ghostly touches are believed to be intentional, and invariably intended for the recipient (see: One knock: “YES”; two knocks: “NO”; three knocks: “LET ME IN”).

It is a type of physical and psychological contact at the same time. It can provoke an immense variety of sensations in the recipient, and is often announced in advance, that is, something changes in the environment, something indefinable, before the person is touched, usually on the back and legs (see: I feel like there is someone behind me)

The effect of the ghostly touch sensation may vary. Some people feel like it’s caused by a soft object, but also like an animal’s paws, a human hand, spider webs, flowers, and fingers. The touch itself can be hard, soft, dry, wet, sticky or cold (if it is hot it may be due to a non-human entity). It can feel like a light bump, a caress, a slap, a kick, a jab, a push, a punch, or even a kiss (see: Something Invisible Kissed Me).

In more extreme cases, burns, scratches, blisters and slight discolorations of the skin may appear (see: Can spirits touch you?)

Among the pleasant phantom touches, so to speak, are hugs, sudden breezes on the face without apparent cause (see: When something invisible breathes on your face). These phenomena are accompanied by Apparitional Experiences, that is, when you feel a presence nearby; particularly the feeling that someone is sitting next to you. Some maintain that these types of touches are actually messages sent by guardian entities, or angels (The smell of angels, demons, spirits and ghosts)

These phantom touch events occur when the person receiving them might need positive encouragement. More than a touch, these types of events are experienced as hugs, caresses, someone holding your hand, rubbing your hair, patting your shoulder or back (see: Something is pulling my feet in bed).

Spirits often manifest into the physical world through the air. A ghost touch is sometimes experienced as a gentle breeze brushing your face or ruffling your hair; of course, when there is no logical cause to explain it. Another telltale sign is localized movement of objects, for example, papers on a nearby table moving without explanation.

There are invisible touches that produce liquid sensations, extremely rare. In these cases, the person may experience the sensation of a warm liquid on the skin, such as honey or oil. It seems strange, and even unpleasant, but those who have had this experience describe it as extremely pleasant.

Now, before you feel something invisible touching your back, or for that matter any other part of the body, a sudden change in the environment usually occurs. Some describe it as the sensation of someone sitting next to you, a physical presence, although invisible, that somehow radiates energy, which can be positive or negative, depending on the entity and its intentions.

Demonic spirits basically act on attraction and invitation, in such a way that they cannot touch without having previously been attracted or invited by the person (see: I invited a demon to my house). This usually happens when you try to communicate with spirits without knowing exactly what you are doing (see: Ouija: common mistakes, dangers and consequences)

The touch of a demon, or a negative non-human entity, feels no different than being touched by a human, at least in physical terms, but it produces extreme instinctive reactions. Being touched by one of these entities feels like being touched by something absolutely horrible, disgusting and disgusting.

The topic of psychic touches has been discussed a lot (and we will do so again in the future), but it is such a subjective phenomenon that little or nothing can be concluded about it. The feeling of something invisible touching your back is not something that can really be measured. On the other hand, a wide variety of associated bodily sensations, ranging from the ordinary to the spectacular, can also be attributed to completely internal actions. But here we enter the realm of autosuggestion, and that will be the reason for another installment of the Paranormal Clinic of .
