On the poetry of romanticism.

Sturm und Drang was the rallying cry of romanticism. It means storm and impetus; was created by a group of German artists, who promoted a true aesthetic and philosophical revolution in the arts, whose bases could be simplified into two concepts:

1- The freedom of the artist.

2- The notion that the only goal that art should pursue is beauty.

The term romanticism was coined in England during the 17th century, and its meaning tended to express something “similar to romance”, which was nothing other than novels of chivalry, which were never liked by the wise.
