What are chakras?

The word “Chakra” comes from the Sanskrit shakra and means wheel of life. Chakras are centers of energy, shaped like swirls, located at specific points in the body, and are intended to metabolize and maintain the continuous transfer of energy between the physical body and the spiritual and material planes. How do they work?

All people have seven chakras, located along the spine of the human body. Each of them is associated with a color and a gland of the physical body, and governs a specific part of the functioning of our psychological body, as we will see below.

Solar Plexus Chakra, third chakra or Manipura (Sanskrit)

It transmits heat (energy) to the body that is in the conscious mental plane (reason, ideas and planning) and also to psychic health. It relates to action, power, self-acceptance and standards, conditioning and values. It is located in the area of ​​​​the mouth of the stomach, spleen-pancreas.

Heart Chakra, fourth chakra or Anahata (Sanskrit)

It is an intermediary chakra between the upper and lower parts of the body, it has the role of transmitting vital energy to the organism (life and oxygenation) and is integrated with love, peace, community and self-sustainability. It is found in the thoracic region, region of the heart.

Color: green Pink.

Throat Chakra, fifth chakra or Visuddha (Sanskrit)

It has the role of concentrating vital energy, which is distributed to the entire energy complex and is related to expression, internal and external communication and our intimate needs. It is located throughout the neck region.

Brow Chakra, sixth chakra or Ajna (Sanskrit)

It is responsible for raising man to the spiritual plane. It is related to intuition, perception, sensitivity and evolution and mental understanding. It is located in the forehead region.

Crown Chakra, seventh chakra or Sahasrara (Sanskrit)

It is a chakra with a spiritual characteristic, which can only be reached through the sixth chakra. Considered the link between human beings and the spiritual universe, it is located in the region above the head.
