Wedding cake miniatures are the new sensation among newlyweds

You know those wedding cakes that are true works of art and it’s really sad to see them being cut? Because now they are being immortalized in ~pocket~ versions.

The trend was launched by the artist Rachel Dyke, in partnership with Charm City Cakes, and became a sensation among newlyweds in Los Angeles. The identical replicas of the original cake are handcrafted down to the smallest detail and are a keepsake for the couple.

To create these cuties, Rachel analyzes photos of the cake and decides on the best materials to use – ranging from clay to pieces of jewelry found in thrift stores. Then the prices vary according to the piece, but usually come out around 150 dollars.
