We tested the Buscofem Hot – colic patch

If you, like me, suffer from menstrual cramps, you’ve probably heard the indication of relieving the pain by placing a hot water bottle in the region. But a new product on the market, Buscofem Hot, promises to provide the same effect and in a more discreet way.

I tested the product, which was distributed in our Clan House, to tell you if it really works.

WHY DOES HEAT HELP RELIEVE COLIC?

Okay, heat helps — and I use this technique myself when the cramps get too hard to handle — but how does a patch help me with that?

Buscofem Hot is a thermal adhesive that releases heat where it is applied. It is recommended to paste the adhesive over the panties — never directly on the skin — and the heat lasts for 8 hours.

Instant heating comes from the technology of Activated Carbon. When removing the adhesive protection, the Carbon comes into contact with the air and the reaction with the oxygen causes it to self-heat.

PRACTICAL AND DISCREET

Well, without further ado, I’ll tell you: my experience.

What I usually do when I have cramps is stick a thin water bag (yes, literally stick it, with duct tape) between my pants and underwear because that’s the only way I can work without writhing in bed.

like the hot buscofem it already sticks to my panties, I skip all the work of having to heat water, fill the bag, look for duct tape… And I already remove the sticker from my drawer to apply it directly. Also, the patch is — obviously — much more discreet than running around with a water bag in your pants, as it doesn’t add any bulk.

The heat is also very pleasant, there is no danger of burning the skin and it really lasts for 8 hours — I put it on in the morning and only took it off in the late afternoon, when I went to shower.

Another advantage is that you have no excuse to skip the gym. You can use it even during training.
