We imagine what the cast of “The Big Family” would be like if it were an international series

The Silvas are a typically Brazilian family. For 14 years, they entertained and moved the public in stories that represented the daily life of the country. Thanks to a group that was “very united and also very edgy”, the series consolidated itself among the most successful attractions on TV. The cast, of course, helped: Marco Nanini and Marieta Severo, for example, two veterans of the small screen, immortalized beloved figures such as Lineu and Nenê.

But have you ever stopped to think what an international version of The big family🇧🇷 we, from awesome.club, we decided to make this joke. We cast a team of foreign actors and actresses to represent each of the characters in the series. Check out!

There were 14 seasons in which the experienced Marco Nanini played, with mastery, the responsible patriarch of the Silva family. If we could suggest a gringo actor to represent our dear Lineuzinho, we think the British Mark Williams would be a great choice! With a consolidated experience in TV and cinema, the international star conquered the public by playing Arthur Weasley, the father of red-haired Ron in the franchise. Harry Potter🇧🇷

One of the most respected actresses in Brazilian dramaturgy, Marieta Severo won us over with the loving and unmistakable Nenê. Conciliator of all the confusions of the neighborhood, the mother of The big family could, of course, win a prestigious international version played by the American Susan Sarandon. We think that the actress, owner of unforgettable characters in films, such as Thelma & Louise and enchantedhas plenty of talent to fill this vacancy!

The most stylish taxi driver in the Rio de Janeiro suburb could not be left out. The charisma of Pedro Cardoso was fundamental to consecrate the success of the unforgettable Agostinho Carrara. And since the game here is to cast the international cast of The big family, we also thought of a good name to occupy the post of the “suitcase” son-in-law of the series: Adrien Brody is our candidate! In addition to the undeniable talent, we think that the physical type of the American actor has everything to do with that of the character.

Actress Guta Stresser was responsible for giving life to Bebel, eldest daughter of the Silva family. The character’s look has changed a few times over the series’ 14 years of running, but the fringe hair style is probably one of the most remembered. With that in mind, we chose the American Linda Cardellini to represent Agostinho’s companion. The star became famous in features such as Scooby Doo and played Hawkeye’s wife in the franchise The Avengers🇧🇷

Lineu and Nenê’s lazy son, Tuco, was defended in the series by the good-natured Lúcio Mauro Filho. Who is also a master in the art of making people laugh is the British actor Russell Brand, our chosen one to fill the role of the youngest of the Silva family. Multifaceted, the star has already starred with the famous Helen Mirren, in the film Arthur the Irresistible Millionaireand has a comedy show stand-up only him in the Netflix catalog.

Agostinho’s faithful friend and business partner, Paulão da Regulagem amused the public when he changed the names of other residents of the neighborhood. For him, Nenê was “Dona Neném”. In the series, the friendly Evandro Mesquita found the perfect tone for the character. But would American Dennis Quaid do well in the mechanic’s shoes? We hope so! If there was a gringo version of The big family being produced out there, the star would be our favorite to fill the role.

As in many Brazilian homes, the “aggregates” were also part of the family. Marilda, owner of the neighborhood beauty salon and Nenê’s best friend, was like that. Here, the award-winning Andrea Beltrão was successful with the character. But if the Silvas’ story were an international production, we think that American Julia Roberts, star of remarkable films such as A beautiful woman and Erin Brockovich, a Woman of Talent, would shine in the role of the flamboyant hairdresser.

Veteran Tonico Pereira embodied something beyond funny in The big family🇧🇷 In the series, he was Mendonça, Lineu’s undisciplined boss and best friend. We think the character would maintain his good humor if he were played by American Danny DeVito in an alleged international version of the show. The star, a true comedy star, conquered audiences around the world in successful features such as Matilda and Twins brothers🇧🇷

The famous Pastelaria do Beiçola was present in many adventures of the Silva family. The merchant, who had a secret passion for Nenê and did everything he could to please her, was played in the series by actor Marcos Oliveira. In our joke, we imagined that the American John Goodman would be a good candidate for the role. A Hollywood veteran, the star has participated in award-winning films such as argo and The Big Lebowski🇧🇷

The late Rogério Cardoso made history in the first three seasons of The big family🇧🇷 And those who followed the series from the beginning must remember the amusing antics of Floriano, Seu Flor. In our invented international version, we chose an actor who needs no introduction to bring Nenê’s father to life. The fantastic Robert De Niro has already proven that he is good at comedy and would probably be ready for this challenge!
