Among dark and light materials, preference should, of course, be given to lighter shades.

Feel free to experiment with colors and prints. An excellent option for a small apartment is vertical stripes that visually increase the height of the walls. By the way, the same effect is obtained if the ceiling is a little lighter in tone than the walls. If you want to use details in dark tones, try to position them closer to the floor or, at least, below eye level.

Furniture with high legs creates a ‘floating’ effect, because you can see the floor and feel that the furniture is not completely touching it. This gives the impression that the room is larger than it actually is.

If your entrance hall looks like a narrow hallway, you can hang a large mirror on one of the walls. Thus, the environment will instantly transform and appear larger. When choosing a mirror for the main room, you should remember one simple rule: hang it on the wall opposite the window. The logic is that the mirror reflects the light that enters through the window.

When choosing the size, don’t be afraid to place mirrors that cover a good part of the wall. In front of them you can place a small chest of drawers or an armchair. This will act as if there is an entrance to some other room behind the furniture. In addition, it will make the space very elegant.

When it comes to a studio apartment, the TV should be installed well above eye level. Ideally, it should be hung on the wall. When the television is on high, you have to tilt your head back a little to be able to watch, and this causes the feeling that the walls of the room are higher than they actually are.
