Surely, at some point in 2017, you sent or received the infamous Monica’s meme🇧🇷 The image, which went around the internet this whole year, shows MaurĂcio de Sousa’s main character working on a computer, while the word “ata” appears on the screen. The meme, which had endless rereadings, went viral so much so that even MĂ´nica de Sousa, the one in real life, made her own version of it. Remember?
But, after all, where did the image that gave rise to all this come from? It was thanks to Twitter, more specifically to the user @ohtorii_, that the mystery was revealed. She was at her house, looking at the bookshelf, when she found the original comic book, with the cover in question.
The photo is in Monica’s Almanac number 102, published by Editora Globo, in 2004. The difference, of course, is that, instead of the ironic “ata” appearing on the screen, there are drawings of other well-known characters from the gang, like Chico Bento, Cebolinha and CascĂŁo. Look that:
If you were a fan of Turma da MĂ´nica in 2004, chances are you also have this relic at home. How about taking a look at your collection?
