We Asked Our Husbands to Make Up for Us and the Experiment Turned Out Better Than Expected

Hi! I’ve been married for 10 years and I thought I knew my husband’s preferences regarding my makeup. For example, I know he doesn’t like black lipstick or when you can see the foundation on his skin. I walk around without makeup most of the time and he sees me like this practically every day. I like to dress up more for going out or when I’m in a good mood, but still, not always.

We, from awesome.club, we love to try new things. In truth. So I decided to do a little experiment of my own, and I asked my friends to join in. The objective was simple: to know what makeup men would like to see on their wives. It can be said that the result was very revealing and that the couples ended up learning new things about themselves. Check out!

I explained the basic techniques to my husband, Artem, and we started🇧🇷 First, he contoured my eyebrow thickly and painted it from the inside. We laughed at my new giant eyebrow and then I showed him how he could fix it. He managed. My big surprise was the choice of lipstick. He had read that thousands of men were against their women wearing brightly colored lipstick. Well, my husband had no problem choosing red.

Then the most surprising thing happened.: I changed my beige and light blue shirt for a black sweatshirt with a black hood. He vetoed my choice saying that more flashy makeup would go better with clothes in more neutral tones — not black — as it would look “too far”. I compared the photos and – amazingly – he was right. Before, I didn’t worry too much about it. He did the makeup he wanted that day, but he didn’t pay attention to the clothes that would match those colors. I will listen more to my love’s beauty tips. I noticed that he has good taste, attention to detail and ability to combine colors. What a pleasant surprise!

We haven’t discovered anything new: we’re always together in the same apartment 24 hours a day. But it was fun and we spent the whole night laughing. The only surprise was that my husband found out what my favorite lipstick color was. I loved!

The experience was excellent just because we spent those 40 minutes together, joking and laughing.

I can’t say what my husband found out about me, but I was surprised to see that he seemed to really understand my face. He single-handedly chose the correct shades that I normally use. Finally, we are agreed that we will find him a new profession, in case it comes in handy.

I discovered that my partner knows how to draw on paper, not on his face. But it was really funny. I will definitely ask him to try again and try a little harder as I know he can do better.

I don’t like very intense makeup and I rarely wear makeup. I always seem to get older. My choice is usually the same — regardless of whether I’m going to a restaurant, a friend’s house or an event.

My husband and I have the same opinion on this.🇧🇷 He’s also not a fan of multiple layers of makeup. For the sake of the experiment, he tried to draw the “kitten’s eye”, but the result came out a little different: I looked like a panda. He also chose a more pigmented lipstick than the ones I usually use. Afterwards, I went to wash my face.

It was good for convincing us — even more so — that neutral tones suit me better.

To my surprise, Alex quickly agreed to the experiment. — and even with a certain enthusiasm. He wanted to do a good job, but he wasn’t sure what he was really capable of. At first, my husband showed me a French video from the 90s and said: “I want to do it like this!” In the clip, the girl appeared with light and clear makeup, but for some reason, he thought she should use black shadows. After the first brushstrokes, the scare came. Of course, I gave a tip to fix it: we wiped my eyes with a wet wipe and I showed which eyeshadows would look more like the image in the video.

We couldn’t stop laughing from the start, since he slathered cream on my face from top to bottom using the entire palm of his hand. It was also hilarious when he surprised himself by saying that he thought the blush should be applied to the entire cheek. He took off the excess mascara with his fingers, saying that he – probably – had done something wrong. Overall it was a lot of fun as we joked around a lot and got even closer together. I also found that he likes it when my eyes are brighter.

amazing experiment🇧🇷 Besides, why wouldn’t it be? My husband didn’t want to do it anyway, he wanted to take it seriously and do his best. He’s Moroccan — but we live in France — and he’s totally free of prejudice, so he accepted right away. We had already tried something similar many years ago, but just for fun. This time the result was infinitely better.

what I discovered: he likes it when I’m au naturale, without makeup and, therefore, did not choose vibrant colors or hot pink lipstick — even though she had several available. I liked the feel of his hands running the makeup over my face, gently and lovingly. I hope it’s not the last time.

My husband didn’t take it for a long time, complaining that he “didn’t know anything about makeup”. He didn’t understand the purpose and thought it would make me look like a clown.

The result couldn’t be further from that.🇧🇷 He didn’t want to take any chances and used colors in neutral tones, with a minimum of product. Finally, he said that his work was better than mine — because it was more “natural”.

It was hilarious. My husband didn’t know the names or what the products were for, so I took everything I had. It started with a blue eye shadow. She looked, thought, cleaned. He decided it would be better to use darker colors: black, gray and pink. I loved the result of the rosy cheeks.

There is generally one universal rule: eyes or mouth. The focus needs to be directed to one of the regions. But my husband ignored this advice.

I always thought that rosy glow didn’t suit me, but — I’ll admit — I was wrong. Maybe even try to make it even brighter next time. The cutest thing: when I got out of the shower, my husband said, “How lucky for me to have a woman as beautiful as you even without makeup.”

The result of the experiment was the same for all: a success🇧🇷 All of us were able to spend more intimate time — affection and care — with the people we love. Everyone involved had fun, even doing something a bit unusual.
