Vin Diesel and Paloma, a relationship far from the spotlight, whose love story is still being written

After enjoying the success and adrenaline of some films in the Fast & Furious franchise, Vin Diesel left the fast cars to star in the family comedy Operation Babysitter, whose plot aroused his desire to be a father, working with five children. “Working with babies on film for so long really started to spark this desire to have a child,” he revealed. But the actor also dreamed of finding love.

The actor admitted that it took him many years to find the love of his life and to be mature enough to become a father, until, on the least expected day, he met a Mexican model that he liked from the first moment. Her name is Paloma Jiménez, born in Acapulco, Guerrero.

Paloma started her career as a model in Mexico and has appeared in advertisements and campaigns for some of the most recognizable brands in the world. She also did photo shoots for various agencies before moving to the United States in search of better opportunities.

Diesel and Paloma have been together since 2007, but preferred to keep their relationship a secret. “I’m not going to put him on the cover of a magazine like other actors,” the actor once said of his desire to keep his private life out of the spotlight. “I come from the code of silence of Harrison Ford, Marlon Brando, Robert De Niro and Al Pacino.”

He is 16 years older than the model and every time he opens up about the relationship he has nothing but good things to say. The actor called Paloma his “Mayan Queen” in 2014 when he shared a photo of her cradling her son on Instagram. “There is no greater gift for a man than a loving mother for her children,” he said.

A year after they met, Diesel and Paloma had their first baby, but there’s a very cute story before the little girl’s arrival into the world. He was filming Fast & Furious 4 in 2008, just as his girlfriend was getting ready to give birth. The actor was torn between his personal and professional obligations until he received great advice from Paul Walker.

“I had a secret,” recalls Diesel, “I didn’t tell anyone in the world that my daughter was about to be born.” But Paul noticed his friend’s discomfort and questioned him. Diesel finally revealed the reason. “I will never forget what he told me. His words were, ‘Vin, go into the hospital room and cut the umbilical cord. It will be the best day of your life’”.

The good news is that Diesel followed his friend’s advice to the letter. But before that he still had some doubts. “I said to Paul, ‘Should I be in the delivery room or how is it going to work?’ And he replied: “You know, a lot of guys will tell you: Don’t do it… you can’t take it… you’ll never look at your girl the same way again, it’s the best thing you’ll ever do in your life”, he advised. Paul.

I was more present than I ever dreamed possible, but the bond created with my daughter is priceless.” The actor took to Facebook to share Paul Walker’s influence on his fatherhood journey: “He was an important part of my transition to fatherhood,” he wrote.

Diesel and Paloma named their first child Hania Riley Sinclair, born April 2, 2008. She almost always accompanies her parents to movie premieres and red carpet appearances.

Two years later, Vincent Sinclair was born, who made his film debut in Fast & Furious 9, giving life to the younger version of Dominic Toretto, a character played by his father throughout the saga.

Finally, on March 16, 2015, the couple had one more daughter whom they named Pauline Sinclair, in honor of Paul Walker. Diesel explained it was a way of keeping his memory as part of his family and his world. On the day the little girl was born, Diesel felt that Paul was there. “It was in the living room,” he recalled. “I didn’t think about anyone else as I cut the umbilical cord. I just…knew it was there.”

Not only does his character as Dominic Toretto in the Fast & Furious franchise apply this legendary phrase, but in real life, Vin Diesel considers his family his priority and strives for his three children. He’s very proud of them and doesn’t hesitate to take them to the red carpet to enjoy a good movie.

Although the couple is very careful about their privacy, Vin Diesel praises Paloma whenever he can. “I’m speechless. She is so stunningly beautiful. She is my rock, she is so stunningly beautiful inside,” Diesel said. And he added: “Paloma is everything. She is the perfect mother. She is wonderful in many ways.”

The actor also said that he prefers to date in Europe, where he is not so easily recognized. He thinks relationships between celebrities are crazy. “People rummage through your trash, take your picture at Starbucks, mix up your last names in a Bennifer-style joke. It’s a fool’s gamble,” he commented.
