Velvet nails: ideal for winter

This winter velvety nails became the sensation, so we at Dicas de Mulher decided to try this trend that is super high.

Also known as plush nails, they are not as difficult to do as they may seem and their application is quick.

In addition to being simple to apply, although it looks like it uses up a lot of the “pozinho”, in reality it uses almost nothing. We applied the furry nail trend on both hands and at the end of the application we returned what was left in the pot and it was almost full again.

The only different material you will need to make your velvet nails is flocking powder which gives the velvety finish.

It can be found at cosmetic stores and craft stores. The only difference is that in cosmetic stores they are usually sold in smaller quantities. We buy our little pots for R$ 2.00 each.

How to make plush nails

1 – Start by painting your nails normally with one or two coats of nail polish. Do not pass more than two or the result may not be very good. This layer will serve as a “background” for the plush nails, so it doesn’t have to be perfect. After that, clean the corners.

2 – Then apply a layer of extra shine, but without going too close to the cuticles. Leave a little space between the extra shine and the cuticles to facilitate cleaning and leave the finish better done.

3 – With the layer still wet, little by little sprinkle the “powder” on the nail. Let it fall on the nail until it covers the entire painted area. We recommend doing this under a surface that facilitates the collection of dust that will fall from your nail while you apply it.

4 – The next step is to lightly tap the finger so that the excess falls off. You can also blow lightly to help with the process. To remove the hairs that remain on the finger, use a dry cotton. Be careful not to touch the cotton to the plush nails, as it will stick and be difficult to remove.

Now just repeat this on all nails. The care we suggest is to prevent nails from hitting objects, avoid getting them too wet and prevent them from rubbing against other things. That way, you ensure they last longer.

The red velvet nails, we did with Revlon Valentine nail polish and a velvety finish “powder” in a wine tone.

The plush blue nails were done with Ana Hickmann’s pearly Hip Hop nail polish and the powder chosen was royal blue.

Check out the materials we use to make our velvety nails below. See that even after applying the “pozinho” on 10 nails, the pots did not even empty.

Now it’s your turn. Look for the “pozinho” with a velvety finish in your city and try this strong winter trend now. Remember that even if the nail polish used is pearly or shimmery, this is not a problem because the flakes will cover the entire length of the nail. Try the trend and show us how it turned out on Facebook or twitter.
