This is why we should stop saying “everything happens for a reason”

Many people get stuck in a never-ending cycle looking for answers that will end their pain. They think that pointing out the cause of pain is the gateway to possible salvation.

There was certainly a time in your life when you felt some kind of pain, wondering if you would have the strength to get through the next day. The world as you knew it has crumbled, leaving you with nothing but pain and despair.

It is in situations like this that the inevitable phrase “everything happens for a reason” is heard, which never helps and only serves to give an excuse for what we are living.

Trying to understand a situation that will never make sense will mean nothing in the end.

We need to accept pain, suffering, anguish, illness, loss and death as an inevitable part of human existence and abandon the idea that things always happen because they had to. We can’t just blame life and say we weren’t lucky.

Sometimes, when people face the loss of a loved one, for example, they struggle to make peace with God, wondering if this was all part of His plan for their lives.

But remember that what matters is how the path is traveled, not the path itself.

It was never God’s will for anyone to get cancer, it was never His plan for an innocent child to die brutally, it never was His divine design for someone to suffer terrible pain and die in a trivial way.

We need to accept the difficulties that appear in our lives and take advantage of this difficult time to get closer to God, seek His support in moments of weakness, bring the memory what gives us hope.

It was never God’s will that we suffer in our lives, but that we live in harmony and intimacy with Him. When we suffer, He also suffers.

Sickness, pain and suffering have become part of the human experience through sin, and it’s what we do with our suffering and how we deal with tragedy that really matters.

It is up to us to create the good of life so that our suffering can have some purpose.
