They invented an ice cream that doesn’t melt and we want it too!

Thank you science! Inspired by the Northern Hemisphere’s summer, the geniuses at Japan’s Biotherapy Development Research Center have created ice cream that doesn’t melt. It is sold at Kanazawa Ice, in the city of Kanazawa, Japan, under the self-explanatory name “popsicle that does not melt”.

The secret of this magic is the polyphenol, a liquid extracted from strawberries. “This substance has properties that make it difficult to separate water and oil, so ice cream with polyphenol in the formula manages to maintain its original shape much longer than conventional ice cream, which melts,” he explained. Tomihisa Otaone of the pharmacists involved in the work, to the Japanese portal Asahi.

The ice cream mold withstands up to five minutes of hot air from a hair dryer. And both versions are very beautiful, as you can see in the pictures.
