The red book game.

Among some recently manufactured urban legends is one called The Red Book Game; a modern variant of bibliomancy, that is, a method of divination through books.

In ancient times the fortune teller took a book, almost always a sacred book, like the Bible; or a book with a strong symbolic meaning, such as The Divine Comedy or the Odyssey; and he opened it to a random page. The first paragraph was then read, to which a meaning was attributed according to the question that the officiant had asked.

The red book game uses a virtually identical system. To play it you only need to follow five rules.

1- Get a red cover book.

2- A red candle to illuminate the room.

3- The person must close their eyes, place their hand on the closed book and ask the question out loud.

4- Without opening your eyes you must randomly choose a page and a paragraph of the book by running your fingers over it.

5- Finally, the message must be interpreted.

Up to this point, the red book game is practically identical to any other gymnastics of bibliomancy, however, some rather strange urban legends have been woven around it.
