Right food helps recover sense of smell and taste lost with Covid-19 –

With nutritional support, it is possible to alleviate more common symptoms such as loss of appetite, taste changes, loss of smell, tiredness, fatigue, increased mucus, nasal congestion and headaches.”

She lists what to do in each case:

Lack of appetite:

Prefer softened, moist and cooked food to facilitate the recovery of taste and digestion. Do not abuse the amount of salt. Invest in herbs like basil, mint and parsley to stimulate the taste buds. “One tip is to make a smoothie with protein (whey or vegetable protein) and fruit. The drink helps maintain protein intake during this phase”;

Olfactory rehabilitation:

Daily, inhale different odors at least twice a day. Do this exercise with short inhalations of about 20 seconds each. “Separate essential oils, coffee, cinnamon, garlic, curry into small pots. Avoid alcoholic and acidic items to inhale”;

Decreased nasal discharge:

Make compresses with peppermint or eucalyptus essential oils. “I also recommend doing a nasal cleaning with saline solution every day in the morning.”

It is also worth not neglecting hydration. Keeping the body hydrated is key to containing symptoms and bringing relief. “In addition to taking care of the water, drink ginger, mint, lemongrass, tulsi and green tea.”
