Pray to ward off sadness and be happy

In this week that precedes Carnival, the word sadness should not be pronounced, or rather, felt by anyone. Sadness does not match the joy of this holiday at all.

But we cannot always avoid sadness or melancholy when a negative event occurs that shakes our life in any area.

Emotions such as joy or sadness must be experienced in their fullness and with an expiration date.

Exactly with expiration date yes, because we want our joys in our lives. We don’t want sadness to appear, but they do exist. We just don’t want it to show up all the time.

However, there are people who are always sad. They are always suffering from a sadness that has been going on for a long time. They are people who suffer beyond normal for sad facts. But they don’t put an end to this story and continue to feed the pain.

As Chibo Buarque wrote in the song despite you:

“You who invented sadness

Now, have the finesse

to disinvent

You will pay and it’s folded

every tear rolled

In my grief”

Change your state of mind. Let go of this old sadness. Go be happier. To help with the process, pray the prayer below.

Prayer to get rid of sadness

Take me by the hand Lord, and make me feel the security of Your presence in the name of Jesus Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Beloved Father, in the name of Jesus in the power of Your Spirit, I want to start healing my painful past.

I thank You for the gift of my life, for it was not just the fruit of my parents’ will. In Your word it is written: Before you were formed in the womb I knew you.

Before your birth I had already consecrated.

Lord, now touch my wounds, pull out the whole situation that leads me to sadness.

Lord, I know that only Your inner healing can solve my problem, I know that the psychologist, the psychiatry can help me, but alone they will not solve my problems.

Yes, Lord, come to my rescue now, free me from all the power of the temptation to empty my life, not to love, not to live, not to bless.

Lord lead me to the areas of my wounded past I want to be restored to live abundantly.

I believe that Your Son, Jesus died because of me, I know that on the cross He placed my life, even my painful past is nailed to the Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ. I am here Lord, I am the work of Your hands. I need You, I need Your love (Agape), heal me from sadness. Amen!
