Photographer captures men before and after they become fathers

Waiting moments in the hospital room are harrowing and make everyone nervous. For grandparents, uncles and friends, it is already very difficult to wait for the new baby to come into the world. Now imagine for the future father!

Taking advantage of these anxious moments, Tom Oldham photographed the men waiting for their children before and after they had contact with the babies for the first time.

The photographer spent 72 hours in the hospital waiting room capturing the reactions of each new parent and their expressions of nervousness -before seeing their son- and of relief after holding him for the first time. And the result of this experience was simply incredible.

All the photos were taken for the publicity of the new PlayStation game, God of War, which will have as its plot the relationship between a father and a son.

Of the photos, Tom said: “These portraits capture a really important moment in these men’s lives and show the enormity of becoming a father.”
