I worked at a sawmill, and a customer swapped a 4″ treated lumber beam for a 12″ one that I was holding. It landed on my hand. I heard a bang and thought I lost my finger, but it turned out that my tungsten carbide ring took the full force of the impact. It broke but didn’t dent, thus protecting my finger from being tragically crushed. I’d rather change a ring than ever lose a part of my body! 🇧🇷
