No more mess! Learn how to organize every corner of the house

Crammed closets, clothes scattered across the floor, purse and small objects loose in all corners and surfaces of the house – who has never despaired with the mess in the midst of the chaos of a busy routine? Living a pandemic, even more so. When these small disorganizations become frequent and start to get in the way of everyday practicality, it’s time to reevaluate and create solutions that help you keep everything in place.

To get around the problem and go straight to the cause, we chatted with the personal organizer Margo Belloniwhich explains what to do and what are the best solutions for each environment.

Step one: take each item to its room

“If you leave everything anywhere and anyway, the first thing is to pick up everything that is dropped and take it to the right place in the house. Go out collecting and leave each one in their room. This makes it easier to start tidying up and actually disposing correctly,” she explains.

Unclog!

Do you really need so many clothes, shoes, pots and other objects? “PTo be organized it is very important to look at what is in the house🇧🇷 Generally, the kitchen and closet are the spaces in which we accumulate the most excesses and unnecessary items”, he says. And you don’t have to do everything at once: open a closet a day and make a selection of what should stay, what needs to be renovated or fixed and what you no longer use and can be donated or dispensed with.

Create strategic spaces

Nothing is more common than getting home and leaving your purse, glasses, keys and other small objects on the table or on whatever surface you reach first. It may seem a little silly, but this is how the mess begins. 🇧🇷It is essential to have a place to deposit what you bring from the street🇧🇷 If we put these things in a different place every day, we waste time looking and still leave everything chaotic, with several small outbreaks of disorganization”, he warns. And you don’t need to invest a lot: hooks on the door or a box or basket near the entrance will do the job!

Organization by most problematic environments

bedroom

In the bedroom, the essential thing is to separate all clothes and shoes. There is certainly some piece there that is not used because it does not fit, because it is not in adequate condition or simply because it does not add up. “Our style changes, so it is natural that from time to time we have to review it”, adds the expert.

Other good options for those who have a lot of objects and little space are the door shoe racks and closet organizers that allow you to create more levels on the shelves, making access to your pieces much more practical.

Kitchen

After revisiting everything you hide in the closets, it’s time to optimize the space! Pot and lid organizers are very welcome, as well as drawer dividers, cup hooks – which can be placed inside the closet – removable middle shelves (which allow you to better organize the pantry) and bag holders. “Those knives, spoons and skimmers that you use the most must be within reach, and for that we can use the hooks or the utensil bars”, he indicates.

WC

How long has it been since you visited your cosmetics and makeup cabinet? 🇧🇷It is very common for bathrooms to accumulate a lot of expired products. or even repeated, and that just makes life difficult. We need to look periodically to discard what is no longer safe to use and even to know what we really need to buy.”

Laundry

Here, a well-built joinery is the best choice, especially when you have little space. If you can’t invest, at least try to bet on the broom hangers for the wall and the ceiling clothesline, which help to organize.
