My surfer bunny is a big hit at the beach

When I got Kiko, I never thought he would be more than a cute pet. I’ve always liked animals, but I didn’t know that rabbits could be as affectionate as he is. When we go on vacation, we don’t have the heart to leave him alone. Result? He goes to the beach with us, of course!

He’s so cute, he’s the only animal accepted at the inn where we stayed, on the coast of São Paulo. He goes with me wherever I go. Kiko becomes an attraction wherever he goes. Also, just imagine a rabbit walking on the boardwalk? Everyone stops to see and wants to hold their lap. He’s a hit!

On hot afternoons, I stay with Kiko under the parasol. It was on one of those days that he got the nickname surfer bunny. I went for a swim, and he followed. Then, a friend and I decided to play a game and we put Kiko on top of the board, in the shallow end of the beach. He balanced on the first two waves, and on the third, he fell. But there was no problem, because he went swimming and came back to the sand calmly.

Now it’s hard to get him out of the water

After he surfed for the first time, he started to go to the beach all the time. At first, Kiko found the bathers’ movement a little strange, but then it was hard to get him out of the water. Just like the child! Anyone who passes by my surfer bunny asks to take pictures, to play with… And I let him, because he loves to be pampered.

Rabbit like Kiko, all loving, who doesn’t bite anyone, doesn’t get mad at bathing or cutting nails, who plays throwing the ball for you, I don’t know any other than my little one!

He is my faithful companion and is much less work than a dog! And I’m happy that everyone enjoys Kiko’s antics.

In the photos, you can get an idea of how much fun my rabbit’s surfer life is. Of course, he doesn’t always get along with the waves. If the sea is busy, sometimes it becomes unbalanced and falls. But, if everything is calm, I put Kiko on top of the board and he stays there enjoying it. When the wave comes, he throws his body back and forth until he reaches the shallows again. Just fun!
