Low memory on your cell phone? Instagram makes it easier by launching a lighter version

O instagram lite, launched by Facebook, is a lighter version of the social network. The application takes up only 2MB, 28 less than the traditional version of the cell and saves your mobile data. So, it is possible to have a faster and quality navigation even without a stable internet connection.

Since March, the application has been available in 170 countries, but only for Android devices. In Brazil, the novelty arrived this Wednesday (14) in the Google Play Store.

For the country, the launch also makes it possible for more people to connect, especially those who live in remote and rural areas, where there is often no quality internet.

The company points out that, in South America, 23% of users have a 2G connection, that is, a slow data network that makes it difficult to use the platform. Instagram Lite will serve as a solution for people in these situations, as it is aimed at 2G and 3G networks.

The functions remain almost the same, see? So, it is possible to exchange messages and browse the platform normally, as well as recording videos and photos for feed, stories and IGTV.

However, despite being similar, the experience of the new app is still limited, since there are no features, such as live broadcasts, the shopping section and the tool for creating reels. In addition, IGTV content can only be accessed in preview. However, according to the company, these updates should be added in the coming months.
