Undoubtedly, anger is bad for our health and emotions. Anger is an intense feeling of anger, hatred or rancor, a set of strong emotions and a desire for aggression usually derived from accumulated causes or trauma. It can be seen as anger and a feeling of revenge, that is, a will often seen as uncontrollable directed at one or more people for any kind of offense or insult.

In addition to self-control and wisdom in avoiding anger, prayer is a way to calm and eliminate this plague.

In 2011, research showed how praying helps reduce anger and aggression. Research from Ohio State University in the United States revealed that people who were teased for offensive comments by a stranger showed less anger soon after if they prayed for someone else while being teased.

According to one of the research’s leaders, Brad Bushman, the benefits of prayer identified in the research probably happen because the act of praying changed the way people think about a negative situation. “We found that prayer really helps to deal with anger, to change the way people see the things that make them angry and to take it in a less personal way,” he explained.

The survey results only apply to benevolent prayers espoused by most religions. Vengeful or hateful prayers can fuel even more anger and aggression. According to Bushman, “when people are facing their own anger, they should heed the old advice to pray for enemies.”
