Immobilizing a cat to give medicine is often a difficult task. But it can turn into something less stressful if you get the kitty to associate containment with something pleasant – preferably, from a puppy. 5 tips for giving medicine to the cat

1. When holding him, be firm, but do not over tighten and do not leave any leg or head free.

2. Act natural and always speak in a caring manner.

3. Give a treat, play or pet each step.

4. Only punch him when he’s already more submissive.

5. In certain cases, it is preferable to sedate or anesthetize the animal rather than let it become traumatized – which must be done by a professional.
