Fast and effective cleaning: learn to clean each room in 15 minutes

It’s not always easy to keep the house all tidy, is it? With the rush of everyday life, clothes – which should be in the closet – often end up on chairs in the living room; bags, on top of the sofa; children’s toys on the floor…

However, it is also a fact that most people like to live in a well-organized environment. Therefore, whenever possible, he tries to “give a little tidy up” in the house.

But, as it is not always possible to dedicate hours to cleaning and organizing the house, a quick cleaning turns out to be a great request!

According to personal organizer Claudia Moura, qualified by OZ! Organize Your Life and director of Claudia Moura Personal Organizer, a quick cleaning (which takes about 15 minutes in each room) is recommended for people who don’t have much time, work outside the home or have an occupation (such as taking care of children, for example) – which, generally, does not allow for a longer and more detailed cleaning.

Also according to the personal organizer, a 15-minute cleaning is a great alternative for when you find out that you are going to have a “last-minute” visitor, and you were not “prepared” for it. Below, Claudia teaches you how to do a 15-minute cleaning in the main rooms of the house:

15 minute cleaning for the room

  1. Pick up the clutter: shoes, clothes, toys, used cups, and other things that don’t belong in the room.
  2. Put things in their place: pillows, car key, purse, etc.
  3. With everything in place, you can start cleaning, which must be done from top to bottom, that is, first the furniture, then the floor.
  4. Dust your furniture: You can use a flannel, a microfiber cloth, or any soft fabric. You can use dry or with the usual product (depending on the type of furniture).
  5. To clean the floor, you can sweep, vacuum, or even use a MOP broom.
  6. If you choose to sweep or vacuum, you will have to use a damp cloth with the appropriate product for each type of floor. (If you use the wet MOP, it already ‘grabs’ the dirt and does the broom and rag work together).

15-minute cleaning for the kitchen

  1. The first step in the kitchen is washing the dishes. If you have a lot of dishes, choose to wash the dishes, glasses and cutlery.
  2. Then wash the plastics and pans. If you don’t have time to wash everything, you can hide something in the oven. (But don’t forget about it later!).
  3. Leave the sink clean.
  4. Clean the stove. If it is very dirty and it is not possible to remove all the parts to wash, at least remove the “thick” dirt.
  5. There’s no way around the kitchen floor: you have to wash it! But when this is not possible, a very damp cloth will help. Wipe with a very wet cloth first and then a drier one.
  6. Clean the very apparent dirt on the cabinet doors, on the refrigerator door, on the tiles with a loofah or damp cloth, always with the appropriate product for the type of surface.

15-minute bathroom cleaning

  1. In the bathroom, the essential thing is to wash the toilet with the appropriate sponge and a little washing powder.
  2. Then, with a damp cloth and your preferred product, clean the outside of the toilet, the seat and the lid.
  3. With a loofah also clean inside the sink basin.
  4. With a damp cloth and the product you usually use, wipe over the sink.
  5. Clean cabinet doors too with a damp cloth and the product you usually use.
  6. Clean the floor with a damp cloth.
  7. Change the mat.

15-minute cleaning for adult room

  1. In the bedroom, the first thing to do is make the bed.
  2. Then put your clothes, shoes and bags away in their places.
  3. As in the living room, clean from top to bottom: first dust the furniture;
  4. Then sweep and mop or mop with a slightly damp MOP broom.

15-minute cleaning for children’s room

  1. Make the bed.
  2. Store toys, clothes, shoes, etc. in their places.
  3. Clean from top to bottom: first dust the furniture;
  4. Then sweep and mop or mop with a slightly damp MOP broom.

So you already know: in an “urgency” situation, or when the rush is too big, you can tidy your house by spending about 15 minutes in each room (or, if that’s the case, tidying up only the part of the house that is most messy in 15 minutes).

“But, it is worth mentioning, it is very important to set aside one day a week, fortnight or month, to do a heavier cleaning, pay more attention to details (such as baseboards, ornaments, chandelier, ceiling fan, etc.), move furniture and clean windows and windows”, concludes personal organizer Claudia.
