«Eternal love»: Gustavo Adolfo Becquer; poem and analysis.

Eternal love (Eternal love) is a love poem by the Spanish writer Gustavo Adolfo Becquer (1836-1870), published in the 1871 anthology: Rimas (Rhymes).

There are promises that seem absurd, especially when they are made by someone in love.

We have all heard these alienated beings, fortuitous participants in a cult where they rarely seek to capture the attention of new followers. In fact, we can think that love is a rite without gods but with at least two believers capable of defending it over the years if they sincerely believe in it.

Lovers can perceive hidden messages in poetry, ignored by the rest; for example, in the fiery declarations of this extraordinary love poem by Gustavo Adolfo Becquer.

As a general rule, and absent of logic, when a love poem is good, the lover feels that it was written for him.

Eternal love.
Eternal love, Gustavo Adolfo Becquer (1836-1870)

The sun may be clouded forever;
The sea can dry up in an instant;
The axis of the earth could break
Like a weak glass.
Everything will happen!
May death
cover me with its funereal crepe;
but it can never go out in me
the flame of your love.
