However, it is one of the most aggressive methods, which can cause the skin to dry out, in addition to the appearance of the dreaded “vases”.

Thread hair removal: Also known as Egyptian, Iraqi, Chinese and wire hair removal, it removes hair from the root without damaging the skin’s structure. The method, however, has a durability of 15 to 30 days, but, in addition to being expensive and time-consuming, it requires an extremely skilled professional in the technique in order to obtain good results.

Electronic devices: Indicated for the leg region, it allows the removal of hair from the root, because, thanks to a roller in the head, the wires are pulled out without affecting the skin’s protective layers. The process is practical and inexpensive, however, it is painful and can cause ingrown hairs. The option can last up to 25 days, so avoid removing thicker hairs such as the groin or sensitive areas such as the upper lip with the device. And don’t wait until the hairs grow too long, because the shorter the hair, the less pain and risk of hair breakage. However, as not all models have heads that can be washed, the hygiene and durability of the device end up being harmed. Thus, dermatologists recommend that the electronic device is for personal use.

Permanent hair removal methods

Laser hair removal: It is a definitive depilatory method indicated for all regions of the body, performed in specialized clinics, in sessions, where the hair is gradually removed. Therefore, a specific type of laser is indicated for each type of hair and skin, and the results are easily noticed in the first application. If first-line appliances are used, the method becomes practically painless and there is no incidence of ingrown hairs. Pulsed light: Laser and pulsed light differ in wavelength, with pulsed light being softer, causing the follicle to be reduced gradually. Therefore, the hairs that are not eliminated with the application, grow thin and light.

Procedures performed with pulsed light, as well as laser, are indicated for women with fair skin and dark hair. The Ruby Laser (Epilaser), in turn, obeys the same rules: light skin and dark hair, and has good effectiveness. However, they can cause the appearance of light spots in people with dark or black skin. The Diode Laser (Light Laser) has a mechanism that protects the skin and prevents the appearance of stains. Currently, Quantum is also used, also indicated for black skin, as long as the hair is dark.

ED 5000: Device that facilitates the penetration of hair growth inhibitor products, contraindicated for people with dark or black skin. Using the method, the initial depilation is carried out with a wax of your choice and, in sequence, an inhibitor gel is applied in the region to be depilated with the aid of a probe. After four or five sessions, the hairs start to thin, so they don’t grow anymore.

Epilgreen: Facilitator of penetration of products that inhibit hair growth, initially apply a gel based on extracts and essential oils of plants in the area to be depilated. In sequence, an electrode conducting electric current, makes the gel penetrate to the root of the hair, gradually eliminating it. Finally, the area is shaved with a vegetable wax.

Needle electrolysis: Method also called electrocoagulation. In this process, a needle is introduced into the pore where the hair is born, discharging an electrical charge at the root in order to burn it, causing the “death” of the hair. However, it is a painful method and indicated for small regions, with the risk of scarring or dark spots on the skin.

Electrolysis with tweezers: The technique is indicated for finer hair regions, such as the face or breasts. In this process, an electrical current passes through the hair to reach the root, destroying it.

As can be seen, the processes mentioned as definitive hair removal methods, are expensive and, as the sessions are usually held from month to month, applications can take up to two years.
